🥇 Star Wars Wins Big at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards
An Emmy is an Emmy in any language, and we at Youtini are incredibly proud of the team behind Skeleton Crew for securing four wins at the 4th Annual Children’s and Family Emmy Awards! This monumental achievement places this wonderful odyssey alongside Andor, The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, and The Book of Boba Fett as elite members of the Star Wars Emmy-winning stable. Not to be outdone, Young Jedi Adventures Season 2 also snagged an award, cementing its status as one of the best young children’s animated series ever made.
The Highlights: The awards ceremony was held March 1–2, 2026, in New York at Lincoln Center, where Star Wars walked away with five total wins:
Skeleton Crew:
Outstanding Young Teen Series
Outstanding Visual Effects for a Live Action Program
Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Live Action Program
Outstanding Editing for a Young Teen Live Action Program (Episode 8: “The Real Good Guys”)
Young Jedi Adventures:
Outstanding Sound Mixing and Editing for a Preschool Animated Program
Background: The Children’s and Family Emmy Awards began as a separate ceremony in 2022 to better honor family-friendly content.
Since that debut, Star Wars projects have received 32 nominations.
That includes two wins in 2023, with Young Jedi Adventures taking home honors for Outstanding Editing for a Preschool Animated Program and Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Preschool Animated Program.
It’s wonderful to see the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognize the heart that goes into these stories!
We’re all fine here now — how are you? George Lucas often said his galaxy was created for children, and it is heartening to see Disney continue that legacy with such care. With Kai, Lys, Nubs, and friends wrapping up their arc in season 2, maybe these accolades will help push for a Skeleton Crew season 2! Let us know your thoughts on Discord or in the comments below!
🎬 Empire Dives Into The Mandalorian and Grogu
The hype machine is turned up to 11 as we inch closer to May 22, 2026! Empire (the magazine, not Palpatine’s bunch) has joined the fray with a fantastic new feature packed with interviews and imagery exploring the film’s themes, characters, and direction.
Here are the four major reveals that have us drooling like a Rancor:
A Celebration, Not a Saga: According to Dave Filoni, the film is designed as a “big celebration of the duo” rather than a massive multi-film saga launch like the sequel trilogy. He clarified that this story takes place in a completely different era, free from the pressure to launch a brand-new trilogy, since we already know and love these characters.
Post-Season 3 Journey: The story picks up after the finale of The Mandalorian Season 3. Pedro Pascal notes that while that finale felt like a chapter’s end, it was far from the end of their story. Mando is embarking on new missions for the New Republic, finding purpose beyond just the guild.
Leading with Emotion: Filoni emphasized that while spectacle is great, it’s not enough. With the evolution of film technology, the priority is ensuring the audience truly feels and believes the characters on screen. We already have a deep emotional connection to this pair, and the film aims to deepen it further.
Helmet-Off Moments: Pascal hinted that the time he spends without the helmet “makes perfect sense” for the character’s emotional evolution in specific moments. As we saw in the trailer, seeing Din’s expressions adds a necessary layer of depth, and we are here for it!
We’re all fine here now — how are you? It sounds like the filmmakers are treating this as a high-stakes, big-screen episode — a major adventure for Din Djarin and Grogu that prioritizes action, battles, and heartfelt moments. Since we don’t need time for introductions, they can jump straight into the chaos! Bring it on!
